Joan has recently received this email, if you would like to enter then remember to list “Muir of Ord JogScotland” as your club:
The days are stretching and Spring is just around the corner so its time to turn our thoughts to this years Great Wilderness Challenge. Entries are now open and full details of how to enter can be found below. We do hope you will join us again this year
In order to try and increase awareness of our event we have teamed up with SiEntries and registration is open. We anticipate (hope!!) that this will increase the demand and take-up of places – especially on the 25 mile routes where places are limited. So we would encourage everyone to register as soon as possible by following this link to the SiEntries website:
For those of you who prefer to enter offline entry forms and sponsor forms are available to download from our website. www.greatwildernesschallenge.info
NEW 10K (6.2 mile) FUN RUN
Due to popular demand we are introducing a shorter race option this year. This will be 10k Fun Run based on the same route as the current 7 mile circular walk, starting and finishing in Poolewe. Minimum age limit 16 years on day of race.
In order to help your fundraising we have now teamed up with Just Giving – you can create a fundraising page by following this link
If you have any family, friends, colleagues interested in joining us please send me their contact details or ask them to get in touch with me by email, telephone or post.
In 2019 we are looking to work with companies which may be interested in entering a corporate team. If you have your own company or work for a company you think may be interested in putting a team together please get in touch and we will send out further details.
As you will know last year we supplied complimentary t-shirts with your entry. We are extremely grateful to Bannermans of Tain for agreeing to provide the sponsorship for these t-shirts which proved extremely popular with everyone.
We will be including a t-shirt again with this year’s entry and again would hope to be able to secure a sponsorship deal to fund this. If you can recommend any possible sponsor we would be extremely grateful to hear from you.
As the GWC is a registered charity we are able to claim 25% Gift Aid on donations to us, thus increasing our income and therefore the amount we can donate to our chosen charities.
If you obtain Gift Aid Declarations from your sponsors can you please ensure that you forward your sponsorship form to me at the above address so that we can claim back the Gift Aid. Also, if you send in sponsor money which includes a personal donation from yourself and you would like to complete a Gift Aid Declaration you can download a form from our website or alternatively please contact me and I will forward the necessary form to you.
The difference Gift Aid makes to our income is simply amazing so we really do appreciate your help with this.
If you would like any more information about this year’s event please don’t hesitate to contact me. Please note our new email address firstname.lastname@example.org
We look forward to hopefully seeing you again in August.
