The Community Events and Fundraiser for Chest Heart & Stroke Scotland wish to let you all know about three events they are hosting for runners.
The Glenlivet 10k takes place at the iconic Glenlivet Distillery on Sunday 5th April. This road race is suitable for joggers and runners of all levels. The sign up fee to register is £25, with all proceeds going to the charity. More information on this here: https://www.chss.org.uk/supportus/fundraise-for-us/events/glenlivet-10k/
The Saltire 24 is a brand new ultra-running event in Banchory, which is taking place on the 20th June through the Summer Solstice. As well as individual entries, we also encourage team entries of pairs, quads and unlimited teams, and you can participate in a 12 or 24 hour race. Aim to run a total of 100 miles in the 24 hour race, and 100km in the 12 hour race (special prizes for teams that manage to complete the total distance are up for grabs too!). This means that you can simply go to complete the total distance, or just see how many laps you and your team can do. You can pledge to fundraise a minimum of £100 per person for CHSS and you can get a free charity place in return. More information here: https://www.saltire24.co.uk/chest-heart-stroke-scotland
And finally…although slightly later in the year…
The 9th annual Culloden Run is an iconic race around the Culloden Battlefield. This year is a special anniversary event, being the 300th birthday of Bonnie Prince Charlie, meaning there are some special guests and extra surprises in store for our runners. This year, we are encouraging participants to don their ‘Best Highland Dress’ – whether that be some tartan socks, a hat or kilt! There are two road races to choose from – the 17.46km and the 10km race. You can find further information here: https://www.chss.org.uk/supportus/fundraise-for-us/events/culloden-run/
